fancakeFandom: Longmire (TV)
Pairings/Characters: Mathias/Henry Standing Bear, Mathias/Jacob Nighthorse, Mathias, Henry Standing Bear, Jacob Nighthorse, Walt Longmire, Cady Longmire
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Length: 15,656 Words
Creator Links: gonergone on AO3
Theme: Indigenous characters
Summary: Mathias-centric. What happens after Mathias handcuffs Henry in the truck.
Reccer's Notes: This awesome fic more fully develops and explores Cheyenne reservation police chief Mathias, and he maneuvers and handles himself well, here (competency kink!). While the series did delve into Cheyenne reservation culture, politics, business, and crime, the white characters and their concerns were always foregrounded. I wanted to see a lot more of the Cheyenne characters and the Rez. This fic does that, and well. I love that the main characters are all series Cheyenne supporting characters and the series' main (white) characters make only brief appearances, otherwise staying "off screen." It would be really cool if there were more Longmire fics like this.
Content notes: No Archive Warnings Apply, M/M, reservation intrigue, Cheyenne/indigenous perspective, all major characters in this fic are Cheyenne, Series Spoilers, Post-Season/Series 04, competency kink

I tried to tag this fandom: longmire, but I guess the tag doesn't exist yet because it wouldn't let me.
