Pining, fey forests, vaguely ominous (but hot as hell) vine-tentacle porn, dubcon tailored specifically to inflame the characters' pining, desperately noble self-sacrifice, a faerie-gifted happy ending; what's not to like? (This on top of the already-existing canonical tension between their backgrounds as a British ex-prince/ex-slave and his Roman ex-master; altogether too delicious a fanfic stew.)

Reccer's Notes: Ridiculously cracky fun. Do I care that, as the author says, "Everything about this is completely implausible"? No, I do not. And implausible or not, because this is Sineala, the porn is leavened with a lot of fun historical details.

Reccer's Notes: This is a comfortfic for me because it is very gentle and quiet. Violet clearly loves her nephew, and encourages him in her own way to strive towards happiness, accepting him unconditionally. She does all this without informing the rest of the family, of course, and shows a softer side to herself. This fic is about butterfly catching and sunny afternoons, cheese on toast and a hot fire, and damaged young men falling in love.
