Summary: After the Wens are slaughtered and the cultivators storm the Burial Mounds, Wei Wuxian destroys the tiger seal and flees with A-Yuan. WWX is presumed dead. He wanders as a rogue cultivator with Wen Yuan (renamed Wei Yuan), gathering strays as he goes, including an oddly strident crow. WWX calls her Dianxia (Your Highness):

Dianxia, sprawled on top of his head like a feathery hat, only added to his frustration. Having listened to her cawing all the way from the village, he was a hair's breadth away from grabbing this fat, spoilt bird and slapping a paralysing talisman onto her.

If it worked on her at all. The question of her nature was one he often asked himself but never got around to actually look for answers. Most of them included various invasive experiments and A-Yuan would never let him hurt her.

Reccer's Notes: This is an emotionally strong story, where WWX's survival is perhaps more difficult than if he had died. He can't entirely break away from the cultivation world, but he crosses paths on his own terms, still trying to uphold justice while eking out a life for himself and his family. Enjoy.
