Summary: During the "Four Clans" (read Sunshot) Campaign, Lan Wangji is captured by the Wens while leading a raid. He's thrown in a cell, which holds another captive who introduces himself as Wei Ying. Between interrogations and subsequent isolation, they start to talk, slowly building a rapport. When Lan Wangji comes back from a particularly brutal session, Wei Ying cries over him, startling Wangji until he realizes he's receiving the healing tears of a phoenix.

Reccer's Notes: Although this takes place during canon time frame, things are radically different, especially Lan Wangji. In this reality, he hasn't had WWX to challenge his norms about what is right or wrong, what is black or white. But he's spent literally half his life at war, which tempers his rigidity and allows him to have more natural interactions.

I don't normally like hurt/comfort, since it's often unbalanced, but the hurt here is canon-typical and the comfort comes in equal measures. Enjoy.
