Reccer's Notes: This story contains Sephiroth/OFC romance, which may make some people wary. But 1) the OFC is interesting, intelligent, and likable, and 2) I wouldn't define this as a romance. There's much more going on in it. It's worldbuilding-y and sciencey and plotty and actiony and humorous (and occasionally dark). It's about Sephiroth learning to live out from under Hojo's thumb and to connect with people. And eventually it's about what happens when, once again, everything comes down to Nibelheim.

NOTE - by having alternate versions of certain chapters, the author has made it so that the story can be read as Sephiroth/OFC with close but nonsexual Sephiroth+Zack friendship, or with also a Sephiroth/Zack and Sephiroth/Zack/OFC relationship. I've read both versions of the chapters and personally I think both are well done.

Summary: What if TSbyBS was a dream? Well, not a dream exactly; more like a precognitive vision. At least that’s what Blair believes when he has the same spectacularly realistic dream over and over again: it starts with Naomi sending his dissertation draft to a publisher friend and ends with him declaring himself a fraud. With Jim away on a fishing trip, Blair decides the only way to prevent the vision from becoming reality is to leave without a trace.

Reccer's Notes: Although it pains me when the guys are separated (they are, after all, meant for each other), I do like stories that explore what would happen. Would Jim’s senses drive him insane or simply go dormant? Would Blair find another sentinel? Would that unique friendship stay intact, or eventually fade with time and distance? PsychGirl gives us a nice angsty look at the possibilities. Enjoy.
