Summary: Tony goes to see Wanda, and suddenly Steve is alive and there are Skrulls! Or maybe Tony is just going crazy. Nothing happens in this fic, until the very end. Seriously. There's a lot of talking, mostly at inopportune moments, Tony's views on the acceptable gifts to give people are slightly different from everyone else's and he spends more time than would seem necessary being (half-)naked. What else is new?

Reccer's Notes: It's long and plotty with angst and sex and angsty sex. It's also about saving the world without destroying the universe. "I have to stop Ultron from giving me boobs. Trust me, it's not as fun as it sounds."

Theme: Time Travel

Summary: A freak accident during a duel with Darth Maul sends Queen Amidala's transport thirty-five years into the future -- and directly into the path of the skiff Lando Calrissian is piloting away from the wreck of Jabba the Hutt's barge.

Reccer's Notes: This fanfic was formerly known by the title I'm Your What?

It's a collaborative work between a number of authors, so there are some spots where the writing & pacing is uneven, but I love this fic endlessly for the character interaction. The character interaction, oh my goodness. Everyone from Episode I and Episode VI that you ever wanted to see interact! Everyone you never knew you wanted to see interact until the very moment it happens in the fic and you realize that it is glorious!

The Anakin/Padme relationship is beautifully and very poignantly handled as it deals with the consequences of Vader, 14-year-old Padme, and 9-year-old Anakin all suddenly existing simultaneously. The revelation of Luke and Leia's parentage and the reactions of everyone involved also unfold in a skillful and emotionally satisfying way.

Theme: Time Travel, previously recced by qem_chibati for Novel-Length Fic

Summary: Cloud has an accident with a Time materia, and finds himself in the middle of the Wastes at the start of the Wutai War. There are people to save... and for that, there are people who need to die.

Reccer's Notes: An epic fic with a solid plot, the addictive pace of a pageturner, and a whole lot of interesting character interaction between Cloud and other characters both expected and unexpected. There's quite a number of time travel fics in the FFVII fandom, but this is definitely my favorite.

As a personal note, I found that I got this story's full effect after two readings. The first time around, I got sucked into the plot and tore though the fic at a lightning-fast pace, rushing to see what would happen next. It was a great ride, but I was left a little bemused (though not unsatisfied) by the way the plot was resolved. Several months later I read through it again at a slightly slower pace, and the reason behind the story's resolution became clearer to me and this time I was definitely satisfied. (I'm smiling now just thinking of it.)

Summary: You know what's cooler than one million dollars? Eduardo Saverin, time traveler.

Reccer's Notes: This is a really strong Doctor Who crossover. It has that trademark surreal DW feel to it. I love Eduardo as a companion, I love the idea of him running away with the Doctor, and the sequel just so awesomely wraps everything up it's beautiful.

Summary: In order to set right what is wrong, Dennis Creevey travels in time with unfortunate consequences.

Reccer's Notes: This is the perfect combination of hilarious and romantic, and the Dennis POV is unexpectedly amazing.

Theme: Time Travel

Summary: Post-X3 Charles finds his mind back in the body of his younger self, right after Shaw's attack on the CIA compound, on their way to the mansion. He knows that this younger Erik can't be held responsible for his future self's actions, but, nonetheless, here is the man who will paralyze him, who will leave him on the beach, who will turn his sister into a merciless killer. Here is the man who will betray him in the worst way possible, by using him as a tool, a weapon, in his quest to kill all the humans.

Reccer's Notes: This fic does a great job with both the POV of the time traveler and the POV of someone unaware of what happened, with the intensely bittersweet rawness of Charles's reaction to being back in 1962, and the affection in Erik's observations of Charles. And the perfect touch, the detail that makes this fic truly great, is the decision Erik makes at the end and the way he comes to make it.
