Summary: This story will deal with an hurt Gerontius Took, thain of the Shire, his angry grandson Bilbo, and a proud dwarven king that needs to "sell out" his family to save his people.
The dwarrows have settled in the Blue Mountains after Smaug stole their kingdom. Although Hobbits are happy folk unfortunate circumstances leave the relationship between these two groups somehow chilled and even slightly hostile. But when the dwarrows - who have really not much clue about growing and harvesting - find themselves nearly starved to death, they are forced to reach out for help.
And the thain of the Shire is willing to grant it, under one condition!

Reccer's Notes: This is a very nice casefic starring the London Metropolitan Police's magical crimes unit. (Does contain spoilers for "Broken Homes") It has good character voices and I really like how Peter is shown to be becoming more competent in his own right - he's able to use his knowledge and manage his resources really well as he tries to find Nightingale in this one.

Summary: In the wake of the death of his Grace Sir Samuel Vimes, the various city watches across the disc are brought together in a way seldom observed among coppers.

Reccer's Notes: So on the Disc, some things (like the laws of physics, the flow of time and causality, and the existence of gods) are a matter of belief. And Sam Vimes created a Watch that taught people from all over the disc how to be good cops (and, incidentally, to salute Commander Vimes). See Commander Vimes would probably be horrified of the idea but, the thing is, this fic makes so much sense it might just become your new headcanon. The concept is great, but the execution, the details of it and especially of the kind of God of Watchmen that Sam Vimes would be, are just so perfect in this fic - it's fantastic.
