Reccer's Notes: This another example of me wanting to rec a video because I like the music, although in this case I discovered Turin Brakes through this vid - and I'm also pretty keen on John and Ronon! Apart from the music I really like how it's constructed, following the lyrics of the vid cleverly with with some nifty correspondences between John and Ronon's backstories interwoven with lots of mirroring, linking scenes and expressions. There's footage from their sometimes lonely or traumatic pasts, their meeting and initial, cautious beginnings in Atlantis, which develops into their canon friendship with happier times goofing around and deepens into the intense comradeship of fighting side by side, saving each other's lives. It can be read as a friendship story, or with slash goggles.

Reccer's Notes: I loved the Stargate world, I don't know how much I could go back to it now. Much as I love the characters and many of the plots, it is very much in favor of the US military-industrial complex. This vid takes that on, flipping the script. In the show, people who didn't like Atlantis were misguided or wrong or bad. But as this vid points out, most of the time they had reason to think and feel and act as they did.
