Summary:

"Sephiroth is a cunning man with the power of a god at his fingertips. He decides that the greatest possible victory can be achieved if he turns back the hands of time and takes Cloud with him to the earliest days of Cloud's childhood. While Cloud is unable to remember his adult memories due to the physical limitations of a baby's brain, Sephiroth shifts the deepest foundation of their bond from hatred to manufactured affection.

Where taken seriously, this has dark and lasting consequences.

Where taken less seriously, Sephiroth goes from bad guy to dad guy."

Reccer's Notes:

This fic series is sprawling and nonlinear, with most (but not all) of the fics in it being alternate epilogues to the first fic, Seventh Circle, Ninth Sphere, which is essentially Cloud whump. The author uses several different scenarios, including crossovers with her own and others’ fic universes, to explore how different circumstances might affect Cloud’s recovery from the events of that fic.

Most fics are gen with occasional background Zack/Aerith, except for one where Cloud ends up in the same dimension as a functional and happy AGZSC polycule that’s confused as to why this Cloud is so scared of Sephiroth. One fic is a Final Fantasy XV crossover.

In the initial fic, 7c9s, Sephiroth nonsexually grooms Cloud, tortures him, abuses him physically and emotionally, exposes him to active combat when he’s in the body of a young child, and uses mind-control on him. Through 7c9s and most of the recovery-focused fics Cloud is suicidal and he does make several attempts, but is always stopped. He also engages in self-harm (usually involving his wings) and sometimes denies himself food or medical care. He’s heavily convinced that his connection to Sephiroth makes him less than human and a threat to others around him. In some fics, he spends significant time convinced he’s hallucinating. He also experiences severe depressive episodes, dissociation, and derealization.

Hi! Thank you for including content notes in your rec! Just please remember not to call them "warnings." Can you edit your post to say "content notes" instead?

Also, there's some weirdness with your details/summary cut tag which is making the hidden text show by default. I think it might be because you have "details open" included your code. You might want to wiggle that around and see if you can get the spoiler text to start off closed. I have a little tutorial on the summary/details tag if you need it.

Thank you!

Thanks for editing your post! I'll experiment with switching from HTML to rich text with this code and see if I can figure out what's going on.

Okay, I reproduced the problem by putting the details/summary code into the HTML editor, then switching to the rich text tab, and then I clicked on the arrow to expand the spoiler text, and when I posted, the spoiler text was exposed, like in your original post, and it had added that "open" to the code.

I'll contact Dreamwidth support and see if this is expected behavior, but in the meantime, just make sure the spoiler area is showing as closed in the rich text editor before you post and I think it should be fine.

Link leads to a Dreamwidth 404 page, could you fix it?
